International Foods Tuesday: March 31

Location: Italy Let’s start with this: there are people out there who are skillful at making pasta and then there are skillful eaters. I fall under the latter, along with Baxter the dog. Baxter prefers uncooked, fresh pasta left to dry on the counter. Should Baxter stop in to visit you, please have approximately a […]Read Post ›

International Foods Tuesday: March 24, 2020

First up: MOROCCO Morocco was first up for International Foods Tuesday (IFT) or what I referred to as “Enrichment Dinners.” I think we decided on Morocco because I wanted to make a chicken dish in my tagine. This whole ‘tagine idea’ was a bit of a bust because in planning for this meal, I discovered […]Read Post ›

The Bubble … (or the start of a solid quarantine effort)

On March 15, 2020 we sat outside with our neighbors, around a backyard fire pit. Staring at flames, listening to the crackling and popping of burning wet wood. All whilst shaking our heads and wondering aloud what quarantine was going to look like for us. We quickly agreed to The Bubble: six people, four dogs. […]Read Post ›

ireland & london

not too long ago i travelled to ireland & london.  a bucket list-type of trip.  one of those trips during which i pinched myself on several occasions just to check-in with myself to confirm that it was actually happening. and, happening to me.  i’ve wanted to go to london since i was 8.  when the […]Read Post ›

adventure in the new year

we took the youngest to maine to ring in the new year. we enjoyed some puppy one-on-one time and the company of good friends.  a great kick-off to another trip around the sun.  we figured out that she loves naps, steals socks and loves to chase the tennis ball.

october was a very good month for a wedding…

what a fabulous wedding day!  filled with LOTS of love….belly laughs.  and, there was so much for the eyes and souls to feast on, it was literally breathtaking.  i am honored to have had the opportunity to be there.  here’s what i saw at the end of my lens.

what’s going on here….: road trip – BIG Sur

there shouldn’t be anything that keeps you from personally laying your very own eyeballs on the relatively small patch of california coast side known as BIG SUR. rent a car.  fill it up with gasoline and some (if not all) of your favorite people.  time your drive so that you’re there in daylight.  sunrise is […]Read Post ›

what’s going on here ….: road trip – headed south

spent some time editing again this weekend.  going back through these photos reminds me of how spectacular the trip was; visiting some amazing people and places! while scoping out santa cruz, we walked out to the end of a jetty to check out a cool little lighthouse.  the lighthouse was cool, but what i couldn’t […]Read Post ›

what’s going on here….: road trip NorCal v3

i’ve been taking lighthouses for granted in my lifetime.  kind of like the fact that i take sliced bread for granted.  lighthouses do some very important things.  they are really spectacular to look at.  and, most of them are really old and awesome looking.  it’s the light at the end of a tunnel, for pete’s […]Read Post ›

what’s going on here….: road trip NorCal v2

having lived a rather nomadic life, rarely do i get the opportunity to dig in deep anywhere.  this means a whole bunch of things, but importantly it means that i don’t often get the chance to enjoy an intimate familiarity with a town, city, or state. when the invite came to me to see a […]Read Post ›
